Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems
Design and maintain high-throughput protocol adapters and distributed indexing pipelines.
Engineering Antwerp or Amsterdam (Hybrid) Full-time
You will work on the distributed ingestion layer that synchronizes message streams across nineteen distinct networks. The role focuses on protocol fidelity, fault-tolerant state recovery, and sub-second full-text retrieval pipelines.
What you will do
- Implement robust protocol adapters for consumer and enterprise messaging networks.
- Optimize full-text indexing performance across high-volume customer archives.
- Design resilient local-sync mechanisms for native desktop and mobile clients.
- Maintain end-to-end cryptographic verification pipelines for message integrity.
- Author comprehensive technical specifications and architectural documentation.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years of experience building distributed systems in Go, Rust, or modern C++.
- Deep operational understanding of network protocols, WebSockets, and stateful socket handling.
- Demonstrated track record optimizing SQLite, PostgreSQL, or custom search indexes.
- Experience debugging complex distributed concurrency and synchronization issues.
- Clear, concise written communication in technical documentation and code review.
Nice to have
- Prior experience reverse-engineering undocumented or proprietary network protocols.
- Contributions to open-source systems software or developer infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cross-platform desktop application packaging.
